What is Painted Myths?
A gallery of finished paintings of the world's myths: 40 subjects from 9 traditions, 611 compositions in all, each for sale as a print, canvas, garment or 4K file. It is run by PaintedApp, LLC, and every order is sold and shipped by them.
Can I put my own face in one of these?
Not here: Painted Myths sells finished pieces and takes no photographs. Our sister house Painted Mythos (https://paintedmythos.com) paints your own photograph as a figure from myth.
Why does each tradition look different?
Each myth is painted in the hand its own tradition was told in, as well as in old-master oil. The native hands are Attic Red-Figure, Saga Woodcut, Tomb-Wall Painting, Tanjore Gold, Illuminated Manuscript, Ukiyo-e Woodblock, Codex Painting, Indigo & Beadwork, Palace Relief; the 7 shared hands include Renaissance Oil, Baroque Tenebrism, Renaissance Fresco.
What can I buy, and what does it cost?
Prices run $45 to $1,199 in US dollars: a 4K digital file is $45, a giclée print starts at $85, gallery canvas at $129, and a classic tee at $85. The server re-prices every order from the catalogue at checkout, so the price on the page is the price charged.
Do I get one image or several?
Figures and creatures come in up to three compositions: a square study, a vertical portrait and a wide cinematic scene, and the product page shows all of them. Traditions and places come as one wide tableau.
What paper and canvas are the prints made on?
The giclée print is pigment ink on 200gsm Enhanced Matte Art paper, printed by Prodigi. The Hahnemühle option is Hahnemühle Photo Rag, a 308gsm 100% cotton paper, and canvas is stretched over wooden bars.
Is the art made with AI?
Yes. Every piece is painted with AI image models, directed and chosen by us, and the pieces you commission in the studio are rendered by an AI model from the words you type. We say so because you should know what you are hanging.
Where do you ship, and what does shipping cost?
Physical pieces ship to United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Australia, Ireland, New Zealand, France, Germany, Netherlands, Spain, Italy, at a flat $12 per order. Prints and canvas are made by Prodigi and apparel by Printful, each made to order after payment and shipped with tracking.
How long does an order take?
A digital file arrives at once, as a download link on the confirmation page and by email, live for 30 days and in your account for as long as the file exists. Physical pieces are made to order and then shipped; this site promises no fixed delivery date, and tracking arrives by email when the piece ships.
Can I return a piece?
A print that arrives damaged, misprinted or wrong is replaced or refunded: write support@painted.app with the order reference and a photo within 30 days of delivery. Because every piece is made for you, change-of-mind returns are not offered.
How does the studio work, and is it free?
The studio paints a myth from a scene you describe, and one pass paints it four ways. Everyone gets 4 free passes, then 10 more cost $10; free previews carry a "Painted Myths" watermark and the piece you buy does not.
